Spotcheck: Frognerparken

Frognerparken is a well known skatespot in Oslo, and while we were not in the park to skateboard, we still had to visit the spot and check it out. Here are a few pictures from the skatespot at Frognerparken.

Information

You will find lots of stairs and curbs in various heights in Frognerparken, but there is one area in particular that is used for skateboarding. Here you will find knee height curbs along a long flat area going toward stairs with a ledge and a gap.


History

Frognerparken has been used for skateboarding for almost 20 years. The spot have been featured in several movies and magazines, and have also been the location of contests such as Bernhard Invitational. It is used regulary by both beginners and som of the best street skaters in the world, but not everbody is happy about the activity, and there have been suggestions to move the skaters from the park due to the damage on the stones.
