Spotcheck: Klosterenga Skulpturpark
Klosterenga Skulptur Park is a recreational area located in Gamlebyen in Oslo. We stopped by to check out the spot, and do a little street skating in the park.
History
The project started as a local initiative for the developement of the Gamle Oslo bourough. Gamlebyen beboerfoening and the artist Bård Brivik got the idea to bring back Hovinbekken, and let it run trough Klosterenga in a system of dutches, trays, stairs and pools.
Status
The park looks very nice at a distance, but a closer inspection reveals that not everything is as smooth as it might appear at first glance. The area around the pool has a very smooth surface with stone from chine, but the seams are a bit rough in some places. The same can be seen on the ramps going down to the area around the pool, where there are hughe gaps between the stones. The rest of the surface in the park is very rough. All in all it is still a fun spot.
